Recover Wasted Space

The following is after we removed a mix match cabinet that was converted from a fish tank cabinet. To open shelving storage but was obviously a DIY project left behind from the previous owners.  Our clients wanted a new cabinet design that tied into existing cabinets, with no evidence of it being an after thought.

We applied sheetrock to open space that had been open to the dead space behind old cabinet. We also found a small frame issue and made a minor repair to the wall, prior to setting new cabinets.  Re routing loose wire, and install plugs to be concealed under new cabinet bench. Its often necessary to cleanup the old mess left by builder and or original carpenters.

Marrying New Cabinet to Old

Whenever we are adding on to any cabinet. We try to create an over cohesive look. We used the ship lap design behind the TV aligned and level to keep the architectural integrity.  Once pained this would unify the cabinets.

Bench Seat Final

The home owners went on to add slide out baskets below the bench. With a custom bench seat cushion. All equipment concealed and the living room has added depth, with the addition of the bench seat.
